Or accidentally using the Rocket Accel off a ledge when you have to use the light speed dash to get across a bottomless pit. I think everyone who has played Heroes experienced that one part in Casino Park/Bingo Highway where you have to open the door with the lock that requires flying, but the button to interact with the lock is the same as shooting your allies. What made it terrible is the Rocket Accel, 'Mini' Rocket Accel, Light Speed Dash, Whirlwind and door interaction were all on the same exact button. The end when you're escaping from the lava and you get to that part where you have to use the Lightspeed Dash to get over a gap. The level design was really bad at some points and a lot of it is due to how terrible the control setup was. Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes look great. Heroes nailed the 'Classic Sonic' level aesthetic. Fixed the controls when rail grinding so you dont have to lean in one direction, press the jump button and hope to god you land on the next rail. Brought back the spin dash instead of whatever the Rocket Accelerate was supposed to be. ![]() It had a solid foundation and a lot of the issues in Sonic Heroes were fixed in Shadow the Hedgehog.
